Poker on TV Update: Poker Players on Amazing Race, New Poker After Dark

Next week's Poker After Dark is a tourney, "USA vs. Italy," featuring Chris Ferguson, Howard Lederer, Erick Lindgren, Marco Traniello, Max Pescatori and Dario Minieri.

Poker players Maria Ho and Tiffany Michelle are featured on the latest season of Amazing Race, premiering Sunday at 8 PM on CBS.

The final table of the Monte Carlo Ante Up for Africa tournament airs Saturday at 2:00 PM on CBS. I thought the first episode was below average.

The EPT London High Roller event will be streamed live on Friday, Oct 2 at 8 AM.

Those of you that get Comcast SportsNet Chicago can catch the latest episode of Windy City Poker Championship at 8 PM Central Sunday night.

This week's newsbites:
  • WSOP ratings were reportedly up 11% this year through four weeks of Main Event shows.
  • UK PokerNews.com had an interesting interview with Eddie Hearn of Matchroom, the major British poker TV producer.
  • There's a report that PokerStars's North American Poker Tour will finally be announced in October.
  • 2 Months $2 Million updates: KRANTZ made an interesting post about 1) how they had to negotiate with the production company to get enough time to play poker and 2) how the chronology of the show was altered from real life. The opportunity opened up for Ansky by the show was apparently moving to DeucesCracked, the training site founded by KRANTZ.
